About Sarah Cathie

My name is Sarah Cathie, and I’m a 21-year-old artist from Massachusetts currently in my senior year at the Rochester Institute of Technology, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Medical Illustration, on track to graduate in May 2026.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by creativity and curiosity. Whether I was exploring new painting techniques or diving into the world of science, I was constantly drawn to understanding and expressing how things work. That early blend of art and science naturally led me to the field of medical illustration, where I can bring my lifelong passions together in a meaningful and impactful way.

With years of experience in illustration and design, I’ve developed a style that is both precise and expressive, with a focus on aesthetic beauty and scientific accuracy. My goal is to create visual work that not only communicates information clearly but also inspires curiosity and deepens understanding.

After earning my BFA, I plan to continue my education by pursuing a Master’s in Art Education, with the goal of sharing my passion for art and science through teaching and helping others discover their own creative voices.

Sarah Cathie’s Experience

I’m a driven and creative Medical Illustrator with a strong foundation in both art and science. My work specializes in anatomical illustration, medical visualization, graphic design, and animation, blending precision with clarity to communicate complex scientific information in an accessible and engaging way.

With a background in general and human biology, anatomy and physiology, gross anatomy, and surgical observation, I bring scientific accuracy and insight to every project. My illustrations are more than just visuals —they’re tools used for education, research, and healthcare.

I’m passionate about visual storytelling and its ability to enhance understanding in both scientific and medical communities, aiming to create visuals that inform, inspire, and make an impact.

I use a variety of digital tools and software, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and 3D programs such as Autodesk Maya and Cinema 4D, to bring scientific stories to life through both 2D and 3D media.
